How you can help

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests. -- Patrick Henry

Participate in Reasons to Secede

Reasons to Secede is a work in progress. We are currently accepting content for the site, and invite you to submit articles or content that you believe to be relevant. There are a number of ways for interested parties to help out. Here is what we need:

  • Insightful articles on the subject of secession
  • Analysis of the upside and downside of secession
  • Comment and opinions from community leaders including politicians, city, county, and state employees, university professors, political scientists, media personalities, business men and women, and concerned citizens.
  • Example secession plans: How would a state secede? What are the steps required to secede? What is the time table for secession?
  • Example continuation plans: What would the government of the new country look like? How would the government be supported? How would the new country protect itself and its people? How would the new country replace current federal resources such as the military, FEMA, FHA, the Federal Reserve Bank, etc? What would the relationship with the United States look like?
  • Fiscal continuation plans. How would the new country pay its bills? What would happen to Federal income tax? How would Social Security recipients continue to receive benefits? What would the budget of the new country be?

As one can see, there is a lot of planning that must take place before secession can be considered. A collaborative effort from people all over the State of Texas is invaluable in creating a truly useful resource.

If you wish to participate, please send an email using the link on the left. Your submission will be reviewed and, if appropriate, posted on this site for all to read.
