Reasons to Secede

Texas... or what was once the "Republic of Texas", is arguably the greatest state in the Union. It has its flaws, just like any other state, so if you're looking for perfection, you surely won't find it here. But given the current condition of many states in this great Union, it is easy to see that Texas has done it right. In Texas, we have low taxes, affordable property, and balanced budgets That's something to brag about.

We are serious about protecting the accomplishments that we have made and the lifestyles that we have created. We like our independence and we like being in control of our own destiny. We're a little upset at the way the boys in Washington keep telling us what we can produce, how to farm our lands (or NOT farm them), where we can drill for our own oil (see the US Supreme Court decision on June 23, 1947), and how to educate our kids. We think we've done a pretty good job up 'till now, and we'd like to keep it that way.

Reasons to Secede exists as a resource for Texans who want to explore the potential of secession from the Union. We are here to answer questions, to encourage healthy debate, and to provide solid information on the subject of secession.
